AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Local Dairy Queen locations will give away free ice cream cones on Tuesday to help raise funds for Children’s Hospital of Georgia. That’s the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

DQ patrons will get a small, soft-serve vanilla cone. Instead of paying for the treat, they are invited to make a donation to improve the lives of patients under the care of Children’s Hospital of Georgia. All five Augusta Dairy Queens (except Augusta Mall) are participating in the event. The promotion is also at DQs in Thomson, Louisville, Millen, Swainsboro, and Waynesboro.

Over the last 30 years, DQ has raised more than $100 million to help support the 170 CMN Hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. DQ officials say the free cone day provides a way to say thank you to fans for their patronage and to help generate funds for local children’s hospitals.
