LINCOLN COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - The Richmond County Coroner's Office has released the cause of death for a small child who died in a hot car last September. It comes as no surprise to most. The coroner says 8-month-old Ja'Karheyonna Hougues-Double died of hyperthermia. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

We told you in mid-December that LaToya Bell was charged with murder in this case. Bell was the child's godmother. Investigators say the infant was left alone in the car for several hours – while Bell went inside her house and fell asleep.
