LINCOLN COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - Richmond County Schools will be open on Friday, February 12, 2016. Students had been out of class on Wednesday and Thursday because of water quality concerns.
At 9:30 Thursday morning, the Augusta Utilities Department lifted the boil water advisory that had been in place since Tuesday night. Augusta-Richmond EMA says the decision was made after a second round of tests came back with no sign of contamination in the drinking water.
Since the water has been declared safe, students at Richmond County Schools will be expected to return to class on Friday.
