GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Bond has been set for a woman suspected in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a Kilgore 5-year-old.

Kyrsten Nycole McCarty, 25, of Kilgore, was arrested Monday and booked into the Kilgore Municipal Jail. She was later transferred to the Gregg County Jail, where she is being held on $75,000 bond for a charge of accident involving death.

According to police, McCarty was driving a silver 2006 Dodge Caravan on Sunday when she allegedly struck and killed Robert Jack Moorhead. The vehicle has been located and seized by police.

On Monday afternoon at 4:36, Gregg County Justice of the Peace Talyna Carlson issued a warrant of arrest for McCarty. She was arrested and booked into the Kilgore Municipal Jail.

Police say that just after 3 p.m. Sunday, police officers and firefighters responded to the 1900 block of Florence Street, where they found a male child had been struck by a gray minivan. According to Kilgore Police Chief Todd Hunter, the child had been riding a push scooter, and was hit in the southbound lane of Florence near Driller Park. The child's mother, Brittani Henry, said Robert was going home from a church activity with his older siblings and a babysitter.
