AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - The Warren Road bridge over Interstate 20 is open again but with a weight limit, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The bridge was closed on July 14 after a piece of construction equipment being carried by a tractor-trailer struck the bridge.
After inspections, GDOT re-opened the bridge Thursday evening, but only lightweight vehicles - ones under five tons - are allowed on the bridge. No large trucks are allowed.
GDOT crews removed some chipped concrete and some displaced piping. They are still working on repairing two beams that were dented.
