COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA (WFXG) -

A mother and her boyfriend are charged in the death of a 6-month-old baby.

Lexis Fay Russell, the mother of the baby, is charged with felony murder, Capt. Steve Morris with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said. Her boyfriend, Jacob Drew Harris, is charged with malice murder.

Russell and Harris were previously charged with having a child present while manufacturing methamphetamine.

Deputies were called to the M&M Mobile Home Park around 5 a.m. Wednesday. Russell's son was lying on his back on a mattress in the living room and was not breathing.

Russell told deputies that she went to sleep around 11:30 p.m. with her boyfriend, Harris, according to an incident report. The baby was sleeping in between them.

She said she woke up around 4:35 a.m. and realized the baby was not breathing.
