AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Traffic on Wrightsboro Road will shift to a new pattern starting Thursday.
There will be no left turn from Wrightsboro Road onto Barton Chapel Road at the old intersection. Drivers will be able to turn left at the newly-aligned Barton Chapel Road and Augusta West Parkway intersection.
Wrightsboro Road traffic between Flowing Wells Road to Barton Chapel Road will shift two two lanes eastbound on new construction. The traffic signal at Barton Chapel and Wrightsboro will be removed.
Georgia Department of Transportation officials are asking driver to slow down and be careful in this work zone. Message signs and barrels or cones will be used to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
The work is part of the Wrightsboro Road widening and reconstruction project.
