1 person arrested in accidental shooting

AIKEN, SC (WFXG) -

Officers in Aiken have arrested one person in connection to an accidental shooting Saturday on Magnolia Lake Court, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Maxwell Grandle,18, is being charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to ADPS. Grandle was illegally carrying a loaded Taurus 9mm pistol when the accidental shooting happened.

Officers responded to 329 Magnolia Lake Court at 1:08 p.m. Saturday. When they got there, the victim had already been transported to the emergency room by a parent.

The victim's injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Officers said Grandle was an acquaintance of the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
