AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Serica Weaver is the co-captain of the soccer team for Lucy C. Laney High School, captain in the Pride of Augusta Band, a member of the National Art Honor Society and is on student council.
But that's not all.
"I just really like giving back to people. I like feeling like I have something to give," the 18-year-old senior said.
Weaver is heavily involved in community service and participates in a women's mentor group.
"In December they had a toy giveaway and during Thanksgiving. We had a statewide dinner," she said.
Weaver's headed off to Spelman College this fall.
"That was my dream school," she said. "It was kind of the only one I wanted to go to."
But Weaver, even with all her activities, wasn't sure she was a shoe-in at Spelman.
"I always tell myself, whatever it is that I'm trying to do, that I'm not good enough or that I'm not doing enough," Weave said. "I think sometimes it throws me off a little bit."
But teacher Tiffany Weser-Chrisman said she has everything it takes and more.
"She's just a great kid. Just outstanding in all areas," Weser-Chrisman explained.
