2 arrested in New Ellenton fatal shooting

NEW ELLENTON, SC (WFXG) -

Two people are behind bars in connection with a shooting that killed one man Saturday in New Ellenton.

Devonte Green, 20, and Rakeem Jackson, 16, were both charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 35-year-old Dantroy Cuthbertson, according to the New Ellenton Police Department.

Cuthbertson was shot around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Williamson Avenue in New Ellenton, according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene just after 12:10 a.m.

An autopsy will be performed in Newberry Monday.

New Ellenton Police Department officers were searching for Green and Jackson over the weekend. The two turned themselves in Monday.
