Georgia voters experience some problems with website

LINCOLN COUNTY, GA (WFXG) -

The state of Georgia's My Voter Page which showed polling information was down for several hours and people who visited the site received an error message.

Brian Kemp, the Secretary of State, admitted there was a problem and people had to call their office for information.

In Richmond County, however, officials says the issues didn't have much of an effect.

"The system we use is not at all affiliated with the system that went down," said Lynn Bailey, the elections director for Richmond County. "The system that went down is a system that the public can use to access their voter information; where their polling place is, get their sample ballot and what not. They fact that that was down for a portion of the day, yesterday, had no affect on us at all. In fact, we didn't even realize the system had been down until it had been brought back up for several hours."

Bailey said Richmond County has no run-offs. So the next election will be in March for the special district 7 commission seat.
