Patients at Children's Hospital of GA go trick-or-treating

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Patients at the Children's Hospital of Georgia had the chance to go trick-or-treating Friday morning.

Children who weren't able to go door-to-door in their neighborhoods were able to dress up and collect candy throughout the wings in the hospital. The staff dressed up to pass out candy, and for parents and relatives of the patients, this experience was a great way to get everyone in the Halloween spirit.

"Trick-or-treating in the hospital was fabulous. It was a really great opportunity for all these kids who may not have the opportunity to do trick or treating in their neighborhoods to get a chance. And also to see the nurses and doctor's they've come to know so well," said mother Christie Lynch.

This is an annual event at the hospital and the patients received gifts ranging from candy, to coloring books and toys.
