AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - One person is dead and another person is facing charges after a car wrecked with a Richmond County school bus on Oct. 23, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

The wreck happened at the intersection of Deans Bridge Road and Wheeless Road just before noon when a gray four-door sedan ran the red light and crashed with a bus, deputies said. The bus was carrying a group of students from Wheeless Road Elementary who were on a field trip to Georgia Regents University.

Augusta firefighters extracted two people from the car. One of those people - Larry Harley, 55, of Blythe - was pronounced dead Sunday, according to the sheriff's office.

The other person in the car - 61-year-old Gloria Pugh Brown - was arrested Monday and charged with homicide by vehicle.

Some students were treated for minor injuries after the wreck.
