AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Kids can learn about healthy cooking and eating at the Junior League of Augusta's Kids in the Kitchen event on Nov. 1.
The free family event for elementary school-aged children will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at The Salvation Army's Kroc Center, located at 1833 Broad St.
Children will be able to watch fun cooking demos, sample tasty treats and learn about learn how to properly clean vegetables. They'll also see how easily germs spread by shaking hands and have the opportunity to measure the amount of sugar in popular children's drinks. There will also be free giveaways and raffles.
The event aims to reverse the growth of childhood obesity and its associated health issues. For more information,
