AIKEN COUNTY, SC (WFXG) -

A Graniteville man accused of raping an Aiken woman is behind bars.

James Dyches Sr., 33, was arrested Tuesday night about two weeks after the reported rape, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. Dyches is accused of breaking a restraining order and breaking into the victim's house at 1 a.m. on Oct. 2.

The victim went to the emergency room after the rape, according to an incident report. She told officers she was woken up by a knock on her window. When she answered the door, Dyches came in, pressed keys against her neck, threatened her life and forced her to go into the bathroom.

While Dyches was raping the victim, a 14-year-old girl in the house heard noise, came to the bathroom and begged Dyches to stop, according to the report. Dyches reportedly told the girl to shut up and threatened to rape her too if she didn't. The girl ran back to her room.

Deputies put Dyches on the Aiken County Sheriff's Office Most Wanted list after the reported rape. He is charged with first-degree burglary, violation of a restraining order, kidnapping and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
