LINCOLN COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - The Richmond County Coroner said the man who was found dead in his Second Avenue home by his grandmother died of an unspecified, pre-existing medical condition.
On Aug. 1, Walton Peterson, 38, was found dead on his grandmother's couch early that morning.
When crews arrived on the scene, the coroner said he smelled a "foul, musty chemical odor" in the grandmother, Drue Stokes' home. Stokes was later found passed out and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Hazmat crews tested the area for possible substances during the initial investigation.
