LINCOLN COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - Eight students who were involved in a fight at T. W. Josey High School on Sept. 25 are now facing criminal charges.
School officials still don't know what started the fight. There are rumors one student stepped on another student's foot or that unfinished business that started in the community was the cause.
Richmond County School System officials said they won't stand for this kind of behavior.
"Despite how it happened, the motives is really immaterial, and it should not have happened," said Chief ALfonzo Williams, director of school safety. "And that's the message that we are trying to send. We're just not going to tolerate that kind of foolishness in this system."
Chief Williams said, the school is taking the proper measures to discipline these students.
