AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The suspect in a shooting on Morning Drive is also accused of trying to rob a Circle K on Walton Way about a week after the shooting, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Sedrick Williams, 17, was arrested Wednesday. He is charged with criminal attempt armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Sgt. Shane McDaniel said.

Williams is also charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection to a Morning Drive shooting on Sept. 24 that injured another man.

Deputies also arrested another man, 23-year-old Antwon Mahone, in connection with the attempted armed robbery.

Deputies were called to the Circle K on Walton Way at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday and were told two men attempted to rob the store at gunpoint, but nothing was taken. The suspects fled on foot.

Around 10:30 a.m., deputies were called to 13th Street at Dugas Street in reference to a fight, but when they arrived on the scene, nobody was fighting. Officials said they received information that one of the parties involved in the fight was driving a Chevy Avalanche.

Deputies located the vehicle and detained the driver. Officials said deputies realized the person they had detained was wearing clothing identical to one of the robbers from the Circle K incident.

The suspect was later identified as Williams. Deputies realized Williams was also wanted in connection to the Morning Drive shooting.

As deputies were handling Williams, another man walked by who was wearing clothing that matched the description of the other Circle K robbery suspect. He was identified as Mahone.

Mahone is also being charged with criminal attempt armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
