High 5 4 Kids: Kemara and Makayla

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Kemara Jones and Makayla Benefield are 10th graders at Richmond County Career Technical Magnet School who have created a YouTube show called ‘The Conversation.'

"I want to give advice to teenagers on everyday issues because I go through them," Makayla said.

Makayla and Kemara said one of the topics they're looking to talk about in the future is bullying. Makayla's dad said she won't have to research much.

"She was actually a victim of bullying at another school," said Dexter Benefield, Makayla's dad. "She can relate first-hand to all the things that come with bullying and how bad it makes a person feel."

"I don't like seeing it on social networks [and] I'm not a bystander," Makayla said. "I'll go talk to the bully or the person being bullied."

Kemara said their ultimate goal is to have a television show and to help teens, but mom Nicole Jones said she just wants to see her daughter do what she loves.

"I want her to be happy, whatever her career path," Nicole Jones said, "I want it to be her passion."

Makayla's dad, Dexter Benefield, said he agrees.

"I hope to continue to see her to strive and reach all her dreams," he said. "Anything my wife, my son and I can do to help her, we're there for her."
