AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Doctors Hospital is breaking out the fruit and veggies this September.
The hospital had a farmers market in the cafeteria this morning for employees and patients complete with peaches, cucumbers, corn and oranges.
They say it's in honor of National Childhood Obesity Awareness this month. Hospital officials also say local farmers can really help families get healthy.
"I encourage parents out there to check out the local farmers market on the weekends, find some vegetables, take your kids down there with you, let them be part of the shopping process," said Matthew Shackleton, executive chef for Doctors Hospital.
