The first case of West Nile in Richmond County this year has been confirmed, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
There are six confirmed cases in Georgia this year, according to the CDC's website, and two in South Carolina.
The Georgia cases were confirmed in Richmond, Dekalb, Fulton and Coffee counties. In South Carolina, the cases were confirmed in Greenville and Horry counties.
