ATLANTA, GA (WALB) -

The Wall Street Journal reports that Bill Clinton will headline a fundraiser for U.S. Senate Candidate Michelle Nunn at the home of Usher, in Atlanta.

Former President Clinton was the last Democratic nominee to carry the state of Georgia and will appear at the event slated for September 13th.

In a statement, Nunn praised Clinton for his efforts to support Georgia families.

Nunn also formally accepted five invitations to debate candidate David Perdue in a release Tuesday.

The debate invitations were offered by media and non-partisan organizations across Georgia, and include events on October 7 hosted by WMAZ, October 15 hosted by the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, October 26 hosted by the Atlanta Press Club, October 27 hosted by the League of Women Voters, and November 2 hosted by WSB-TV.

Perdue told WSB Radio he would debate Nunn "Anywhere. Anytime."
