APD names five most wanted gang members

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Police Department Gang Unit wants to know where these men are. They comprise the Top 5 MOST WANTED Gang Members in Albany.

They plan to continue the list to get dangerous gang members off our streets. The Gang Unit says these five gang members all have outstanding warrants, and all of them involve violence.

Investigators say The Five Most Wanted Gang Members all have outstanding warrants, ranging from aggravated assault to battery.

"We definitely want to get them off the streets. I believe that once we've located these individuals and bring them into custody, that will help with some of the crimes that we've seen over the past few months," said Gang Unit Intelligence Coordinator Corporal Prurince Dice.

The top five, 18 year old Corey Wright, who gang unit officers say is a South Side Blood member. He is wanted for two counts of aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit a motor vehicle theft, criminal trespass, and probation violation.

20 year Tevin Scott, a Black Mamba Rattler, who is wanted for Aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, affray, battery, and gang participation.

26 year Edwin Reaves, known on the streets as 'She She.' He is also reported to be a Black Mamba Rattler, wanted for Aggravated Assault, criminal trespass, and simple battery.

19 year old Elijah Brown, an 8 Tre CRIPS. He is wanted for aggravated assault and probation violation.

And 21 year old Steven Leverette, also an 8 Tre CRIPS, wanted for battery.

Gang Unit officers say they are asking the community to help them get these top five off their streets. "If we can eliminate them from committing any further crimes, that will be better for this community," Dice said.

Gang unit Intelligence officers ask that you call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS, or the Albany Police non emergency line at 431-2100 if you have any information on these wanted gang members.
