Deadly protests rage in Pakistan's capital

ISLAMABAD (FOX) - Tension remain high in Islamabad as protesters and police clashed in various areas of the city's red zone, where key federal government buildings are located.

People in the middle of the streets chanted and fires were started.

Plumes of thick black smoke filling the air in Pakistan's capital city.

The violence comes as mass demonstrations take shape from people that are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

This is the second wave of violence over the weekend that saw clashes happening between protesters and security forces.

Those clashes resulted in the killing of three people and hundreds of others wounded.

Meantime, international observers have found no evidence indicating election fraud.

Sharif has refused to step down.
