Augusta Canal Discovery Center and Petersburg Boat tours resume seven-days-a-week operation beginning Sept. 1 with the return of the popular Moonlight Music Cruises and Sunset cruises to the Headgates at Savannah Rapids.
Canal Discovery Center
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday
1 to 5 p.m. Sunday
Free with all boat tours or $6 adults/$4 senior, student, military.
Heritage Boat Tour
View historic landmarks, watch for wildlife and learn the history of Augusta Canal on this hour-long tour. Tours are at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Mon through Saturday, and 3 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Food, Fabric and Firepower: Augusta Civil War 150th Tour
Daily at 1:30 p.m., this hour-length tour shares the behind-the-lines story of the Confederate Powder Works and Augusta's role in supplying the Southern troops during the Civil War.
Saturday Sunset Cruise
The full-length canal cruise from Enterprise Mill to the Headgates is offered the third Saturday in the fall. Passengers are invited to bring along snacks and beverages of their choice. Cruises are from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 20; 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 3 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 15.

Bell ringers will be collecting money in the kettles Mondays through Saturdays between Nov. 13 and Dec. 24. Hours will be as follows:
Nov. 13 to 26: noon to 7 p.m. (not all locations)
Nov. 28 to Dec. 13: noon to 8 p.m.
Dec. 15 to 23: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Dec. 24: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Locations: Augusta, Augusta Mall, Evans, Grovetown, Hephzibah, Martinez, North Augusta, Thomson, Waynesboro, Big Lots, BI-LO, Cabela's, Chick-Fil-A, Dillard's, Hobby Lobby, JC Penny, Kmart, Kroger, Macy's, Sam's Club, Steak 'n Shake, Walgreens and Walmart.

Pumpkin Patch: Browse Aldersgate pumpkin patch for the BEST PUMPKIN PICKING in the CSRA! Also don't forget to ask about the weekly field trips. These field trips are created for preschools, home centers or elementary schools. If your school is interested in participating just call 706-733-4416.

Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat is a fun new spin of door-to-door trick-or-treating! Dress up in your best Halloween costume and trick or treat out of your best decorated trunk. There will be games, food, bounce house and did we mention FUN?! Don't miss this Aldersgate tradition!
Be sure to register before Oct. 20 for Trunk or Treat. The event will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26.
Western Carolina State Fair
It's that time of the year again! Do you smell the funnel cakes and fried snicker bars? Don't miss the Western Carolina State Fair. If you have fun Fair photos upload them by clicking here.

19th Annual Art of Chocolate
Delectable chocolates, music and an art and basket auction. Event benefits abused, neglected and abandoned children in the region. Black-tie optional. Located at the Savannah Rapids Park and Pavilion in Martinez.
Come out and enjoy the fall fun in downtown Augusta! There will be live music, live entertainment, food, arts and crafts, children's games and rides, abarbecue cook-off, apple baking and children's costume contests.

Graystone Ranch Wildlife Education Center
The largest animal rescue is having major FALL fun this season! Have fun on the haunted hay rides and watching the fireworks over the lake! Plus visit the petting zoo, pumpkin patch and much more!
