City of Montgomery's first 10 mile run to be held this fall

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

In honor of the military members and first responders, the City of Montgomery is hosting its first 10 mile run this fall. 

This event is set for Saturday October 11 and it's being organized by Centerpoint Fellowship Church and will be directed by Fleet Feet.

The route will run start and finish at the Capitol building. It's a relatively flat course which will pass through several beautiful and historic areas of the city including Oak Park, Cloverdale and the campuses of Alabama State University and Huntingdon College.

Additional details can be found online and registration is also now open. Active and retired military, law enforcement and fire/rescue run FREE with early registration.

All proceeds will be given in support of Operation: Heal Our Troops, a project of Samaritan's Purse.
