Sylacauga woman dies in single-vehicle crash

ALEXANDER CITY, AL (WSFA) -

Officials are investigating after a single-vehicle crash claims the life of a Sylacauga woman.

According to Alabama State Troopers the crash occurred Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. on U.S. 280 nine miles northwest of Goodwater. 38-year-old Stacia Bearden was killed when the 1995 Ford Mustang she was a passenger in left the roadway, striking an embankment and overturned.

56-year-old Thomas Hatchett, the driver was also injured and transported to a local hospital.

The condition of Hatchett is unknown at this time. No further information is being provided while troopers investigate.
