Man wanted for questioning in stolen credit card case

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Richmond County deputies are asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted for questioning. Deputies say this man in the surveillance photos above is wanted for using stolen credit cards at the AM/PM Food Store August 1st.

But that wasn't the only time police say he did it, the suspect later returned to the same store and used another stolen card.

The manager at AM/PM Food Store wasn't ready to talk with us, but a business owner nearby says, it's an uneasy feeling knowing this guy is out there.

"It's very uncomfortable and insecure for business, since a lot of people start using debit and credit cards," said Branov Patel, Owner of Harrison's Liquor Store.

Patel say he knows how it feels, because his business has been a victim.

"It happened with us, a past couple of years. we had made some changes to our software, plus we are asking for their I. D., looking at their credit card and debit card, just to make sure they're the right credit card holder," said Patel.

Patel advises customers to use their debit cards. He says that can sometimes be safer because you have to have a pin number to use them.

Officials say the suspect appears to be in his late 20s - early 30s - with a beard, mustache, and a tattoo on his right arm. If you have any information on the suspect, please contact the Richmond County Sheriff Office at 706-821-1020 or Investigator Brian Johnson at 706-821-1451..
