A tractor-trailer hauling frozen meat overturned on Interstate 20 in Aiken County Wednesday morning, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The driver of the tractor-trailer carrying the meat was traveling eastbound on I-20 around 7 a.m. when he sideswiped another tractor-trailer.
The tractor-trailer carrying the meat ran off the left side of the road through the median, across the westbound lanes and through a ditch and a fence, troopers said. The truck then hit an embankment and overturned.
The driver of the overturned truck was sent to Georgia Regents Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said. The other driver was not injured.
Cumbee Trail Road, which runs close to I-20 westbound, was temporarily closed while crews worked to clean up the spilled meat and wreckage.
