LINCOLN COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - Want to see changes with Augusta's housing? Now's your chance to speak out.
Richmond County's Housing and Development department is conducting an online survey to help form a five year plan for the city.
"It's a way, actually, for all citizens of Augusta - Richmond County, to get involved and tell us exactly what are the needs of the citizens of Augusta Richmond County," said Hawthorne Welcher, Jr., the assistant director for the department.
Hawthorne said the survey will touch on housing and homelessness needs, marketing analysis and what type of housing is needed in Richmond County.
The plan must be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to receive Community Development Block Grants and other federal allocations.
The survey collects demographic information and includes questions of public infrastructure, services and facilities as well as housing and economic development.
"They're pointed questions, which allows us to be able to come back and pretty much create a compilation in regards to that, that actually addresses and speaks to the citizens," Hawthorne said.
The survey will be open until the end of September.
