Fort Gordon hosting air training

FORT GORDON, GA (WFXG) - An air training exercise at Fort Gordon is making a lot of noise overhead, but Augusta-area residents shouldn't be alarmed, officials at the post said.

Fort Gordon's training area is hosting routine, scheduled Air Force cargo drop training Wednesday, officials said.

The training will continue through 3 p.m. Another training is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m.

The aircraft involved are Air Force Reserve C-130 cargo planes from Marietta, Ga. Officials said the planes are flying at low altitudes as a necessary part of the training.
