New gun law info sessions set for August

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Augusta-area residents can get information on the new Georgia gun law that went into effect on July 1.

The Richmond County Marshal's Office and Rep. Wayne Howard of Georgia's District 124 will be hosting meetings on Aug. 12 and 14 to inform the community about methods of carry, license changes and the impact on local businesses, churches and government buildings.

The law - often known as the "guns everywhere" law - allows Georgians with concealed carry permits to bring guns into bars, school zones, government buildings and some churches.

The sessions will be held at these locations:

Brigham Community Senior Center

Aug. 12

6:30 p.m.

Garrett Community Center

Aug. 14

6:30 p.m.
