CLEARWATER, SC (WFXG) - Clearwater Village Apartments took a stand against violence, crime and abuse Tuesday night.
They held a 'National Night Out' event on Westminster Way starting at 6P.M.
The goal was to teach residents to lean on neighbors and get to know the faces of law enforcement. The Aiken Fire Department and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office were both at the complex.
Apartment manager Sonya Kindt said this kind of event strengthens the complex and the area.
"If they feel like it's a community more than just a place to live, like it's a home instead of just a complex or apartments, it's a lot better that way," Kindt said.
'National Night Out' is nationwide and started in 1984.
