3 people arrested after armed robbery at gas station

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Three people are facing charges after an armed robbery at a gas station on Washington Road, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies responded to the Kangroo Express located at 3011 Washington Road around 2:52 p.m. Sunday.

Someone entered the store, asked for a pack of cigars and then pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun. The robber fled on foot toward Stevens Creek Road with several boxes of cigarettes and cigars. 

The suspect's vehicle was identified as a red 1998 GM pickup truck with Georgia tag BKJ9822. 

Deputies stopped the suspected truck at the intersection of Claussen Road and Reynolds Industrial Boulevard and arrested the following three people who were inside the truck. 

  • Jahmad Olajuwan Saleem, 23, is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
  • Cyril Maurice Vickers, 22, is charged with armed robbery.
  • Santoine Calvin Butler, 23, is charged with armed robbery.
