BUCKEYE, AZ (CBS5) -

At least 15 trailers at the Leaf Verde RV Park in Buckeye were toppled during a furious microburst Thursday night.

Three people suffered minor injuries, and some park residents said some trailers had to be cut open to get people out.

Most of the trailers were vacant because it's a seasonal park and many residents left for the hot summer, said Buckeye police Officer Tamela Skaggs.

Some trees were also uprooted by the storm.

"The wind started blowing real hard, shaking everything," said Chace Taylor, of Arkansas, who was staying at the park with friends.

"I heard some racket outside. They got in the bathtub and when we got a break we went out to the car."

The trailer park was expected to be in major repair and clean-up efforts Friday morning.

Bernadette Korb bought her Buckeye house about six months ago and was watching Thursday night's storm from her backyard.

The winds pushed over a tree outside her property that broke through the cinder block wall in her backyard.

"We saw the lightning and though it was really crazy," Korb said. "It got really rough and was really windy so we decided to sit in the garage and watch the storm."

She said she wasn't aware the tree had fallen until news crews arrived to ask her about it.

Light rain fell in some areas of the Valley and some winds were reaching 20 mph with a chance for more storms later Friday that will increase over the weekends, CBS 5 Meteorologist Katie Baker said.

The return of the monsoon will also bring a cooling trend over the weekend with highs reaching only the upper 90s on Sunday, Baker said.

Already on Friday morning, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport reported a morning low 10 degrees cooler than Thursday, Baker said.
