Why did Cracker Barrel fire Brad's wife? It's really no one's business, other than Brad's and his wife's, but that hasn't stopped people around the world from demanding answers after a Harrison County, IN, man publicly asked the restaurant chain why his wife Nanette was let go from her job at the Cracker Barrel in Corydon.

AIKEN COUNTY, SC (WFXG) -

A brave father took matters into his own hands after he found someone trying to break into cars in his neighborhood in the middle of the night.

Dakoda Hawkins said he was up making a bottle for his 1-month-old daughter when he noticed someone outside his home.

"I saw somebody walk past my window, and as I looked out he was trying to open the doors on our black truck," Hawkins said. "He had his sleeves pulled over his hands."

Hawkins said he chased the suspect away and called 911, but that didn't keep him from striking again.

"I watched him walk over to this brick house, and we see the lights come on and him out there," Hawkins said.

The man was trying to break into his neighbor's car. That's when Dakoda decided to take action.

"I grabbed him in the chokehold and drug him out of the car and back down here," Hawkins said. "That's when Aiken County pulled up."

The suspect was identified 18-year-old Russell Brice Kendrick. Deputies are also investigating 10 other break-ins that were reported to the sheriff's office since Monday.

"Majority of the vehicles have been unlocked, and our message is just to remind the community to please lock your doors and make yourself a hard target," Sgt. Jason Feemster with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office said.

He added that residents shouldn't leave valuable items inside cars.

Deputies aren't sure yet if Kendrick is responsible for any of the other car break-ins across the county.

"It's a quiet neighborhood, and I got a month-old daughter and family," Hawkins said. "I don't want that around my house. I don't have time for people like that."

Hawkins said for the sake of his family, he's just glad he could get him off of the streets.

Kendrick is being charged with three-counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana.

If you have any information on the vehicle break-ins, contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
