AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - U.S. Rep. John Barrow will hold his annual job fairs for the 12th District in August.
The first job fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 9 at Georgia Regents University in Augusta.
The second job fair will be in Statesboro on Aug. 16. This job fair will be open exclusively to veteran jobseekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members and military spouses from 9 to 10 a.m. The event will open to the general public at 10 a.m.
Jobseekers also will be able to participate in career building workshops, including resume writing and best-practices for job interviews. Veterans are invited to participate in the career-building workshops from 8 to 9 a.m. Workshops for the general public will run from 9 to 10 a.m.
"Sometimes, the hardest part about finding a job is knowing where to look," Barrow said. "We're taking the searching part out of the equation by bringing together employers from our region who are hiring right now. Our economy depends on a robust jobs market, and I want to make sure everyone in our region who's looking for a good job can meet with employers who have good jobs to fill."
