Woman held at gunpoint during home invasion in Beech Island

BEECH ISLAND, SC (WFXG) -

Three men held Beech Island resident Ella Johnson at gunpoint Thursday in her home off Henley drive.

Johnson said it all started with a knock at the door around 1 p.m.

"I looked outside and saw one guy standing near the screen, another was on the steps and the third was behind the porch," Johnson said.

The men told her they were looking for her son, who wasn't home at the time. Johnson said that's when they asked for water. She went the kitchen, but started to get the feeling that something wasn't right.

"When I went into the kitchen to get the water, I got a small kitchen knife and hid it behind my back," Johnson said.

She thought they were leaving and went to close the door. That's when Johnson said they pushed her to the ground.

"One of the guys stood over me with a gun and told me not to move," Johnson said.

Johnson said the other two rushed into the house, ransacked two bedrooms and broke various items.

The men got away with a box of designer clothes her son had at the house and a television.

"I was very, very scared," Johnson said. "They told me with a gun pointed in my face that they were going to kill me, so I told them to take anything they wanted."

The three men took off through the front yard. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office said they do not have descriptions yet on the men, but Johnson's son said he feels disgusted that this happened.

"It makes me feel violated that someone would come on a private road and mess with an older woman who would help anyone," Rickey Henley said.
