NTSB releases new reports about deadly Thomson plane wreck

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Federal investigators are revealing new details in a plane crash that killed an Augusta-based vascular surgeon and four of his co-workers.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators said a private jet crashed into a utility pole at the Thomson-McDuffie County Airport February. 20, 2013.

NTSB said the jet was carrying staff from "The Vein Guys". Officials said the pole they crashed into was built by Georgia Power in 1989, but Federal Aviation Officials were not notified.

NTSB said a probable cause report on the crash will be released.
