BELTON, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities were in a five-hour standoff early Wednesday morning with a wanted felon who was holed up inside a Belton home.

Belton police were in the area of B and Ella streets about midnight Wednesday conducting a follow-up investigation.

As officers were on the scene, they received information that 33-year-old Steele N. Poe, who was wanted on a Cass County felony warrant, was in a nearby home.

Officers made contact with the resident of the home who confirmed that Poe was in the home.

However, Poe refused to exit the home, so officers set up a perimeter.

Tactical officers with the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded and phone communication was made with Poe.

Poe surrendered to police about 4:50 a.m. without further incident and taken into custody.
