Firefighters responded to a report of a fire around 3:15 a.m. at a home in the 2800 block of Kelsey Street.

Shreveport firefighters are investigating after a home went up in flames in the MLK neighborhood Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire around 3:15 a.m. at a home in the 2800 block of Kelsey Street. When they arrived, flames were coming from a bedroom in the back of the home. Officials say the fire had already spread to the attic and burned the electrical service line. Firefighters say they had to avoid the downed power line before going inside the home. Firefighters were able to put the fire out in 10 minutes.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire.
