TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) –Tucson police are searching for a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run accident on the Southside that sent one person to the hospital Monday evening.

Two cars crashed in a parking lot near Irvington and Campbell, according to Sergeant Chris Widmer with TPD.

One car drove off and the other followed. Widmer said the cars traveled about a block to Irvington and Tucson when a passenger in the second car stepped out to confront the other driver.

The passenger was hit by the vehicle, which then fled the scene, according to Widmer.

Emergency responders rushed the passenger to the hospital, where the injuries were ruled not life threatening.

The car who hit the passenger is believed to be a blue or green Volkswagen sedan.

Anyone with information should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
