Escaped inmates are back in custody

GROVETOWN, GA (WFXG) - The Grovetown Police Departments announced on their Facebook page on Saturday that the two men who escaped Friday night are back in custody.

Officers said 24-year-old Michael Davis and 21-year-old Joshua Gray were inmates at the Grovetown Police Department Detention center when they escaped on Friday night.

Both men were back in police custody on Saturday morning. Two people were arrested for assisting the two inmates. Gray' mother, Malisa Self, and Samuel Cline Jr. were arrested according to the Gary Owens, the Grovetown Police Chief.

It is unknown how the two men were able to escape.
