AIKEN COUNTY, SC (WFXG) - An 18-year-old man and a girl are facing charges in connection with a shooting Wednesday on Amos Court in North Augusta.

Carlos Flores and the girl were arrested around 4:55 p.m. Thursday on I-20 just past Highway 39, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. Deputies are not releasing the girl's identity because she is a juvenile.

Flores and the girl were in a gold Chevrolet Tahoe that had been stolen out of North Augusta, deputies said.

The two are accused of robbing a man late Wednesday while he was in his car at his mailbox, according to the sheriff's office. The victim said the girl shot him when he refused to hand over his phone.

Flores will be charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the sheriff's office. The girl's charges have been forwarded to family court.

Aiken County Sheriff's deputies said both suspects had outstanding charges with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety and were turned over to their custody.

The two are also accused of carjacking a man at gunpoint on July 17 in North Augusta, according to the North Augusta Department of Public Safety. That's when they stole the gold Chevrolet Tahoe they were driving when they were arrested Thursday.
