One person shot on Amos Court in North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) - A man is in stable condition after being robbed and shot late Wednesday evening, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.

"I didn't do anything. It's not like I had any relationship with those kind of people," the victim, who didn't want to be identified, said.

The victim said he was at a nearby Spring gas station when he saw a gold Chevy Tahoe.

"I noticed that car was following me. So I sped up and then I turned and then I saw the car slow down and I thought it was going to turn. As soon as I got to the mailbox to check my mail," the victim said.

That's when the situation took a violent turn.

"The car stopped right beside me and a female pretended like she was going to check the mail but instead she didn't. She looked at me and the other guy looked at me and said, 'give me everything you got.'"

The victim said the female demanded his wallet and his phone but when he refused to give up his phone she shot him.

He then notified the Aiken County Sheriff's Office of what happened and he also has some advice to anyone that may find themselves in a similar situation.

"Just turn it over that way you can be more safe," he said.

Anyone with any information about this case is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at (803) 648-6811 or Crime Stoppers at (888) CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
