Fatal car accident kills teen

WILLISTON, SC (WFXG) -

A teenager is dead after a car accident last night according to the Barnwell County Coroner.

Mackenzie Webster, 16, was pronounced dead around 8:40 p.m. Friday after a single vehicle car accident. Webster lost control of his truck while driving on Highway 39 north of Williston. The truck rolled several times and Webster was ejected from the vehicle.

According to the coroner, no signs of seatbelt usage were found, and the cause of death is head and chest trauma.

A toxicology test will be performed, and this incident is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol and the Barnwell County Coroner's Office.
