Columbia County deputies have arrested a second person in connection with an attempted armed robbery and shooting Monday that injured a 25-year-old man.

Makayla Gabrielle Ivey, 17, of Grovetwon is accused of giving false statements to investigators and is charged with felony false statements or writings, concealing facts, according to the sheriff's office. She was booked at the Columbia County Detention Center and was released on a $10,100 bond.

Trelon Baker, 20, was arrested in his apartment Tuesday, deputies said. Baker is being charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm  by a convicted felon, commission of a crime with a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of firearm during the commission of a crime.

Baker is being held at Columbia County Detention Center, and no bond has been set.

The shooting happened around 12:05 a.m. Monday at Westwood Club apartments on Washington Road, Capt. Steve Morris said.

Jamal Fielding was sitting on a bench outside when two men and two women approached him and demanded cash and jewelry, Morris said. When Fielding refused to hand anything over, he was shot in his right thigh.

Fielding ran to his apartment, and his girlfriend called 911, Morris said. He was taken to the hospital.

Deputies are still looking for another man and another woman they believe were involved in the incident.

Morris also said Columbia County Deputies have responded to the complex 31 times in 2014 for various crimes, most of them non-violent.
