AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A man who is already in prison is now facing a murder charge after investigators said he killed a man at Augusta State Medical Prison on June 29.

Tyrafred Amira Campbell is accused of stabbing another inmate, Shannon Levi Grier, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The Richmond County coroner said Grier died from multiple sharp force trauma.

Campbell is in the custody of the Georgia Department of Corrections and will be transported to the Columbia County Detention Center in Appling, Ga. to be formally charged.

Once he is processed at the detention center, he will be released back into the custody of the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Campbell started serving a 20-year sentence in 2011 for three counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault, according to Georgia Department of Corrections records.

Grier was serving a 25-year sentence on aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy charges when he was killed.

The GBI investigation is ongoing and will be turned over to the Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office when it's complete.
