Coaches say it's always good to get the players in as many competitive situations as possible before the season begins.
"Some of the kids we're going to be counting on didn't play much last year," says Randolph-Clay head coach Daniel McFather. "Even though it's not a contact game, it gives them a little feel of the game, what the pressure is, how they perform under pressure."
The high school football season kicks off on August 22.
