Augusta man wanted on child molestation charges

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

An Augusta man is wanted on charges of child molestation and family violence, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. 

Benjamin Warren Evans, 29, has felony warrants for his arrest on two counts of child molestation, one count of aggravated child molestation and one county of family violence simple battery, according to the sheriff's office. 

His last known address was 2030 McDowell St. in Augusta. 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Evans can contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080 or the Criminal Investigative Division at 706-821-1020. Callers may remain anonymous.

    The new accusation came just a few hours after negotiators had reached an agreement to hold a public hearing Thursday for Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who accuses him of sexually assaulting her at a party when they were teenagers.

    The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accidental shooting in Warrenville. According to Capt. Eric Abdullah with the sheriff's office, a child was shot on Oxpens Rd. Monday evening.
